I'm not really sure what you're asking.  

When there are people who are having problems with radio, and other
people who are having no problems at all, this points to a problem with
the former group's internet connections.

When I see comments such as "I sometimes get downloads as low as
0.2Mbs" it's pretty obvious why that person can't reliably listen to
internet radio.

If someone could find a radio station that played back perfectly on a
PC player like Winamp, and constantly rebuffered on a Squeezebox, and
this was reproducible by everyone regardless of the ISP,
wired/wireless, etc., that might indicate a bug in the player.  But as
of now, no one has found such a station, so we can't really blame the
firmware.
