[SlimDevices: Beta] Override default.map

[Millwood]

I'm running 7.1  I tried to override a key in Default.map by creating a
Custom.map in the same directory containing:

[common]
fwd.single = scanner

it does nothing.  Changing default.map does what I want, but will not
survive upgrades.

Does the custom.map mechanism still exist?  If so, how do I use it?
