It appears (with your help) that the wireless network level is fine, I
put my SB next to the antena, 100% signal strength, 100% data on the
network test at 5000kbps too. 

I have even discovered that lower bit mp3 seem to be ok. a 128kbit
audio book seems to play fine but a 192kbit mp3 doesnt, flac also
doesnt.

Wired now works. So I will as mentioned in the beginners forum try and
borrow a wireless router, if it still does it then does it mean the
wireles part of my SB is fubar?
