Thanks for the tip.  I am travelling on business until next Thursday,
but will have a look at it when I return.

Is there source available for the scanner?  I downloaded the SlimServer
code over Christmas and had a very brief glance at it in relation to
another problem I have been having, but it looked like the whole
scanner was bundled as an executable called scanner.exe.
