I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but...

I can tell you that slimserver checks for the existence of certain
files and directories to determine whether or not it was installed from
the deb.  In your case, you are running from your svn dir but it will
think it's the deb.  This can result in running a mix of 6.5.0 and
6.5.1 files.

If you want to run from svn (or a tarball), I suggest you remove the
deb first.  Or, you can upgrade to the 6.5.1 deb in
http://debian.slimdevices.com testing main.
