[SlimDevices: Beta] Problems installing 7.0a over 6.5.4 on Mac OS X (prefs?)

I'm also having this problem installing 7.0a on OS 10.3.9 (Mac Mini). I
tried installing over 6.5.1 and received the same errors as reported in
the above post. I then removed 6.5.1 and the 7.0a files and tried a
clean install and still get the same error.

Any ideas on how to get around this?  Thanks!
