[SlimDevices: Beta] Cant run nightlies on ClarkConnect

I'm a newbie trying SS on ClarkConnect.  6.5 works fine.  When I install
nightlies the install reports as OK but I can't connect using SB or to
the admin screen.  Oddly, SS service always shows as "Stopped" even
when 6.5 is working.  What might I be doing wrong?
