[SlimDevices: Beta] Is 7.0 still going beta today (8/17)?

I'm eager to check out the fresh newness.
As far as switching back and forth(on Linux) would it be reasonable 
to have two init scripts each using a separate copy of my current
config file but pointing to different executables. Or should I just
start with a new config for 7.0(I've run some plugins like IrBlaster
and it puts alot of entries in there.  Don't know how 7.0 would handle
that kind of thing.

I imagine their cache dir's and log files should be kept separate also?
Well maybe now so much the log files..except for sanity.
