We find other UPnP Media Servers on the network and let you browse  
them.  Of course, you can only play supported file types from these  
servers.

No, that's used to find local files to add to the library.

No, SlimServer is not designed to support generic 3rd party hardware,  
and vice versa, our players only work with SlimServer.  Making a  
player work as a UPnP renderer would make it pretty 'fat'.

This is probably possible, what control point did you have in mind?   
It could be a plugin, passing commands to the CLI for example.
