[SlimDevices: Beta] Can't start latest Windows 6.5 nightly

I need to take my squeezebox along with me for a demo so thought I'd
install slimserver on my windows laptop.  I've downloaded and installed
the latest 6.5 nightly installer as I don't want to downgrade the
firmware on my squeezebox.  The install went okay, and slimtray
appeared in the task bar, but I can't get slimserver to start. 
SlimTray just sits there and tells me that slimserver is starting.  I
can't find anything slim-related in my task list apart from slimtray
and can't find any log files anywhere on the system.  Help!

PS  Or maybe I should just get a Linux laptop.  ;-)
