guys, somewhere we are missing something and not getting it right...

winamp starts playing right away, within i'd say 2 seconds of being
told to play the stream.

SB meanwhile, could be told 30 seconds, would buffer 30 seconds, and
still have problems.

why would winamp work fine with the troublesome ISP, while SB won't? 
esp since winamp would start playing nearly right away?

i emailed SD tech support, and after lots of back and forth with
frankly, short unhelpful answers, they finally said that winamp can
buffer more than the SB can.

i suspect that buffering might work like a delay button at a radio
station in reverse, it may not be a linear progression.
