BEFW11S4? The SB connection is wireless? If so, have you tried testing
using a direct ethernet connection from your SB to your router? 

I have had old wireless routers and cards (DLink and Linksys)
spontaneously give up the ghost after a couple of years. Manifested
itself by greatly reduced throughput, though the signal showed as being
as strong as ever.

No amount of resetting or reflashing helped. I had to purchase a new
device.

Test might be worth the few minutes.
