I'm not certain whether a sub will be in the mix...not yet anyway. IF
I do use a sub, I was thinking of just connecting it to the pre-out &
run my mains full signal--not allowing my AVR to handle bass mgmnt. I
know...I probably should let the AVR handle it. I'll have to re-think
that...

Yep; I guess I can "buy, try & return" if I don't like the sound... I
just don't like doing that w/out knowing as much as possible
beforehand. So basically then, given what you said about most AVR's
re-digitizing analog input anyway, me getting an external DAC to place
between the SB receiver & AVR (& connecting the DAC to AVR via analog)
would likely be a waste of time (& money) too? Presumably then,
getting a Transporter (for its presumably "better" DAC) would also be
worthless since the AVR would handle analog input the same way... Huh,
gonna have to totally re-consider whether SB is the way to go for me...
I'm most concerned about sound quality-well, convenience too, obviously,
but if I don't like the sound, I'll just never use it anyway.
Thanks a lot folks; your responses have been educational, and may have
saved me money & aggravation!! :)
