Browsing by folder hierarchy is the same as browsing with any file
manager on your PC.

Squeezecenter will pick up any value you've used in your tags.

File names are only important when browsing by folder hierarchy or if
the tags are missing.
If you browse by metadata file names are irrelevant.

Yes, that's sufficient.

If you have a tool that also copies cover art when transcoding this
might be a plus. Personally, I store cover art both embedded in the
files and as cover.jpg in the album folder.

The artwork scan resizes/resamples images to the preferred size used by
the controller. There's no need to do it yourself.
