[SlimDevices: Beginners] Adding to library.

I am a newbie so please forgive me if this subject has already been
covered. Here's my issue: my library consists of 2,000 albums
consisting of 25,000 tracks. So I rip a new album and I want to add it
the library in order to listen to it with my Duet (which is the best
toy I've gotten quite a while). I do the "Rescan Music Library" then
"Look for new and changed music". This takes a really loooooooooong
time. I find I am better off doing it overnight. Is there something I
am doing wrong or is there a plug-in that will allow an album to be
added ad hoc like I can by drag and drop in Windows Media Player?
