[SlimDevices: Beginners] can SB Duet Receiver be used without controller?

I read that the SB classic can allso be controlled by means of an iPhone

So my question: can I also buy a SB Duet receiver (without the Duet
controller) and control it with my iPhone web interface?

Furthermore is it possible to control the SB duet receiver with my
laptop (and for example use it as a high quality wireless sound
"card")?
