You're welcome, glad it works.

I'm sure its come up several times before and has been covered here,
but of course the words describing the symptoms are different every
time so its hard to find if you don't know.

Why does it work? I thought I'd explained. Look up RIAA Equalisation,
perhaps, eg here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_equalization

But at the end of the day you're "supposed to know" that Phono inputs
are only for record players (I bet it says so in your receiver
manual).

Anyway, enjoy the music, and get busy re-ripping to lossless!
