The SqueezeCenter has a small detachable window. Wouldn't it be nice to
always have it on the desktop? Preferable without the FF or IE border
and statusbar?
Than, read on!
Although not used that often anymore WinXP still offers the desktop to
be customized with web content. In the following steps you will add the
player window to the desktop (don't fret, you can remove it when you
don't like it and it is really simple)
1) Open SqueezeCenter in FF or IE and click on the Undock Player button
on the top right side
2) right click somewhere in the popup window and select View Page Info
(FF) or Properties (IE) and select and copy the Address (URL) in my
case that is
http://saturn:9000/status_header.html?player=00%3A04%3A20%3A12%3A73%3A43
but for you it will be something else most likely :-]
3) now right click on the desktop and select Properties to open the
Display Properties dialog, select Desktop, Customize Desktop... and
Web.
4) Now add a new live Web content by clicking New... and paste the
address you copied in 2) in the Location field and click OK trice.
A vwoala: After a short while you will have cute little window that you
can resize and move around on you desktop. It will stay behind all icons
and windows so it doesn't take screen space but you can control you
SqueezeBox or whatever anyway.
Now isn't that neat!
To remove (but why would you..) again do step 3) but now select the URL
and click Delete, Yes, and Ok twice.
