[SlimDevices: Beginners] New purcahse advice

What stations are you thinking about?

-- I have been listening to the SomaFM stations for years now, and
kexp.org.  They are all broadcasting mp3 streams.  The restirction is
by stream type?  As long as I can get any mp3 stream, I am happy.

1) Is there a fee for use of SqueezeNetwork services in this capacity?

Not AFAIK

-- What is that?  I don't know this acronym.

2) Is it true that I can add any independent stream I want to my
SqueezeNetwork favorites?

Only those that don't need transcoding

-- Understood to be determined by stream type?

3) The receiver and SqueezeBox appear to operate on 802.11g networks.
Do you have a suggested list..

Not any more, the wiki hasn't been kept up-to-date; any of the
well-reviewed devices should be OK

4) It seems like the main difference between the SqueezeBox and the
Duet system is the remote control. 

And the loss of the display on the SB3 of course. A reason to buy an
SB3 is that the SBR ain't shipping yet :(

-- Understood.  It looks like the Duets (with the SBR) are scheculed to
ship by 3/7?
