Hello.
I am looking for advice on what to purchase. I have been searching for
this for a while now, and am very excited to have found these products.
My main goal is to be able to stream internet radio from my wireless
router, independently of my PC (without turning it on), to my stereo
downstairs. I want to be able to listen to some very specific
stations. It sounds like this is possible with either the Duet or with
a SqueezeBox, and use of the SqueezeNetwork services. Is my
understanding correct?
Questions:
1) Is there a fee for use of SqueezeNetwork services in this capacity?
At this point I am not looking to store my music on the network. All I
would be using it for is to bookmark radio station URLs so that they
are available directly from my SqueezeBox, or Duet system.
2) Is it true that I can add any independent stream I want to my
SqueezeNetwork favorites?
3) The receiver and SqueezeBox appear to operate on 802.11g networks.
Do you have a suggested list of compatible wireless routers?
4) It seems like the main difference between the SqueezeBox and the
Duet system is the remote control. Is there any other reason to choose
one over the other?
Thank you, I look forward to making a purchase of a system within the
next week or two.
