Hello and welcome to the Forum and the world of Squeezebox. Making a
little light of your Beta Testers remark, only if you want to be. The
first Slim Device has been around for ages. SC 7.0.1 is a stable server
version. I am Beta testing higher versions (on a separate server system)
and all of us that test report the issues, which are then addressed.
This is why SC 7.0.1 is the official release version so that new users
are NOT Beta testers. I have had no major issues or hoops to jump
through when using an Official SS or SC Server version. Just music and
lots of it for about 12 to 14 hours a day, day after day, there has to
be reliability to do that.

On to your issues and problems, I would strongly suggest that you place
a call to Tech Support. This is the Forum and not an Official Support
Channel (although many issues and problems are fixed or solved here).
Read the manual and read the Wiki, then Call Tech Support is always a
good start. Again either E-mail or call Tech Support so that you can
start enjoying the music.

If music has played before, there is a high probability that it is a
network only issue. If the server is not found, it could be a Firewall
issue, IP issue, DHCP issue, or a combination of them. Lost connection
can be the above or signal strength issue or a neighbor’s network
interfering. Also with not media found have you checked you Music
Source Setting and Paths in SC to make sure they are correct?
